 Myron Zucker Industry Applications Student Design Contest
 
In 1987 Myron Zucker founder and first president of Myron Zucker, Inc. endowed the IEEE Foundation with funds to establish the Myron Zucker Student-Faculty Grant Program in the Industry Applications Society. The endowment was to annually support funding of one Grant of up to $25,000 for a student-faculty research or development project.
 
In 1996, the Zucker Industry Applications Student Design Contest replaced the Student-Faculty Grant Program. The endowment was established by Mr. Zucker because of his strong desire to promote student interest in power applications for industry...at a time when electrical engineering students appeared to be more interested in preparing for careers in communication and computer technology.
